As the CMAR on the South Central and Northwest Extension Phase 2 light rail projects, Kiewit invites potential subcontractors, workforce development partners, and interested community members to learn more about the “work” of light rail construction. This session will provide an overview of the type of work expected on light rail and discuss the lessons learned for those contractors who are new to light rail construction. We will begin the meeting with an overview of Kiewit’s approved workforce development plan, and feature four community partners that can help subcontractors address each of the major efforts: Recruit, Hire, Train, Retain.

Kiewit hosts subcontractor trainings approximately once each quarter to update the subcontracting community about opportunities on these projects. Additional events and trainings will be scheduled for subcontractors, community partners and residents interested in workforce development and jobs arising from this project.
