8(a) Certification: How to Get the Competitive Edge

To help provide a level playing field for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged people, the government limits competition for certain contracts to 8(a) certified companies. Before applying to the 8(a) program, there is a large amount of preparation and planning in order to be successful. For this workshop, there are two speakers.
Our PTAC Specialist will begin the session with a guide on the 8(a) qualifications, paperwork, and process. The second speaker, Wilbert Johnson, who is an 8(a) participant, will draw upon his 10+ business experience and talk about the strategies on making the most of this opportunity.
